Abstract     
The portfolio is a file of course work that the student gathers throughout his/her schooling. They can be used in all phases of education and professional development and in a variety of ways. Drawing on the author's own experience of using and researching student portfolios in the US, Australia and Hong Kong, this book analyses the implications for the development of the portfolio for assessment.
