Abstract     
In the fifth paper in our discussion series on ‘the meaning of evidence based in higher education’ Judy Sebba explains the origin of the evidence based practice movement in UK education and describes some of the strategies and capacities that have been developed to support and promote an evidence informed approach to decision making in educational policy and practice.
