Quotes |
I would like to use this anniversary as an opportunity to respond to some of the political pressures science education researchers face, particularly those in the United States, regarding the methods they use. I want to raise the question of whether these new criteria for quality research will lead to good research. At times my discussion may seem surprisingly political. To leave out the politics, however, would be to provide a distorted and incomplete analysis. Finally I call for a more rigorous, critical dialogue within our community about both methods and aims as a way to improve research in science education. I hope that these comments are useful not only to U. S. researchers but also to researchers across the globewho aspire to do good research. Added by: orey |
